Located in the foothills of Oakland, California, on the east shore of the San Francisco Bay, the campus is a microcosm of the diverse and unique population and landscape of the East Bay. A lush campus of 135 acres amid the green, rolling hills and century-old eucalyptus trees, the campus is heavily accented with Mediterranean-style buildings, many designed by architectural innovator Julia Morgan. Paths and streams wind their way through tree groves and meadows.

In developing a long-range Green Plan, Ecocity Builders educated campus facilities leaders on the restoration and long-term health of LakeĀ Alisio and Lion Creek on campus, coordinated with new pedestrian centers-oriented development in the future.

The plan advocates for a Central Pedestrian Zone with with new building clusters with greenways and streetscapes. It also makes recommendations for environmental policies including an Environmental Policy Advisory Committee and a Complete Ecological Community Master Plan.
